Julie Roy

After a bachelor degree in Art History at UQAM, Julie becomes a versatile and eclectic artist. She navigates between mediums, genres, and audiences. She is a screenwriter, director, and children's author, in film and television. She has four short films to her credit: the feminine take on a “buddy movie” UN JOUR T'ENDENDS PLUS LE TRAFFIC, then LUZ, A WITCH STORY (Short Film Corner at Cannes, prize for best surrealist film at Austin), comes then a sci-fi called YELLOW BLOOD (best film at Liverpool Independent Film Festival), and recently the quirky choral comedy 10 WOMEN ON THE PHONE. She wrote several youth series, including the web series NOMADES season I-II (Numix prize and 4 Gémeaux prizes), and the sensational BARBADA (Tou.Tv). She also acts as a script-supervisor, as on the acclaimed zombie film LES AFFAMÉS. She co-wrote the feature film YOU WILL NEVER KNOW (shooting in June 2022). She is preparing a social tragicomedy (Tou.tv), as well as a first genre feature film, propelled by Fantasia's Frontiers Market in 2020 (production: Christine Falco, Camera Obscura).
