Nancy Pettinicchio is an emerging filmmaker based in Montreal. Falena is their first short film as a writer and director. Their works stem from the recognition of an issue that affects them personally, but for which they lack answers — representation of women and queer people in media, mental and physical health within queer communities, and the inaccessibility of adequate sex education are a few good examples. Their current work in fiction filmmaking and in audio documentary explores various relationships to the body with an emphasis on feminist and queer perspectives.
