Jessie Posthumus
Jessie Posthumus is a genderqueer screenwriter, director, and film editor based in Toronto. Through poetic realism, empathy, and humour, Jessie explores the intersections between queerness, working-class struggles, and the human connection to nature. Their previous narrative short film ROCKET FUEL (2022) and documentary series BAD AT THIS (2022) have screened at festivals such as the Palm Springs ShortFest, Hot Docs, Frameline, Outfest, Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Vancouver International Film Festival, RiverRun, and more. During TIFF 2024, Jessie pitched their short film HOW'S ARCHIE? as a finalist of the Trans Filmmakers Summit x Spindle Films Foundation inaugural Short Film Fund. Jessie’s debut feature film version of ROCKET FUEL has recieved Telefilm financing with Canadian production company Edge Entertainment.
